What is Lindy Hop?
Lindy Hop is the original jive from Harlem NY and started in the 1930s. Most modern jive is derived to a greater or lesser extent from Lindy. It is a partner dance and can be danced to “big band” sounds, jazz and some hip-hop styles.

Do I have to come with a partner?
No a partner is not a requirement for admission. Everyone rotates their dance partner during the class.
Is there a chance to practise the steps I have learned in the class?
Yes, we have periods for freestyle (social dancing) where everyone can get up and have a go and try out some of the moves from the classes.
What do I wear?
The classes are very informal so there is not really a dress code. Footwear should be lightweight and with preferably a sole without too strong a grip.
